Almost 40 percent of the singles in their 20s and 30s do not want a romantic partner, with many calls relationships "boring", according to a government survey published Monday.

The survey, conducted by the Office of the Cabinet over the Internet and by e-mail between December and January, covers 7,000 people aged 20 to 39 years. Valid responses were obtained from 37.8%.

Among the respondents, 37.6 p. 100 said that they did not want a romantic partner, while 60.8 percent wanted. 100 showed interest in such a relationship.

The figures were published in an annual White Paper of the Government on control measures against the low birth rate.

Of the total, 28.8 percent said they are single and not in romantic relationships. Among them, 39.1 percent of women and 36.2 percent of men said they do not want a romantic partner.

The survey also revealed that low-income people are less interested in romantic relationships.

With interviewees allowed to give multiple answers, 46.2 percent called the boring relationship - the most popular reason cited.

This was followed by 45.1 percent who said they wanted to give priority to hobbies and 32.9 percent who preferred their work and study prior to dating.

The White Paper also indicates that the proportion of people who are married by age is never more than 50 years.

To address the low birth rate, which promised state support for all phases of people's lives, from marriage, pregnancy and childbirth to the education of children, the white paper said.
